This is a 7-week academy called the EmPower Energy Auditor Academy. The EmPower Academy will train students on how to conduct simple energy audits on buildings, with an emphasis on their own homes and other residential buildings. Students will learn the environmental impacts of energy consumption and usage, personal financing as it relates to reducing energy usage, basic mechanical concepts behind how energy efficient improvements work, and how to use certain energy auditor tools to assess a building’s energy consumption.

Once students “graduate” from the EmPower Academy, they will be equipped to conduct audits in their own homes and/or community. Students will have access to rental tools to use for free in these audits.
